Eligibility
Admission to the scheme requires appropriate academic preparation.
- The entry requirement for CIPA is a four-year university degree (from a university recognised by AAOIFI) that includes courses in accounting, auditing, business or management, and finance.
- Candidates without such a background will be required to complete Pre-Requisite Competency (PRC) examinations. The PRC examination will be based on AAOIFI’s BRE and AAE study texts.
- AAOIFI will maintain and publish a list of universities whose degrees qualify for exemption from these prerequisites.
Requirements for Fellowship Completion
- The CIPA fellowship will be awarded upon successful completion of all three modules plus the Practical Experience Requirement (PER).
2026 Exam Registration Deadlines
- April Exam: Register by 31 March 2026
- June Exam: Register by 1 May 2026
- December Exam: Register by 7 November 2026
CIPA Exam Registration Fee
The AAOIFI Standard fee is USD 1350, and this price is all-inclusive, covering the Registration fee, the necessary Study text, a Mock exam for preparation, the actual Examination sitting, and the issuance of the CIPA fellowship certificate and shipping of CIPA fellowship certificate.

CIPA Exemptions
What exemptions will current CIPA candidates receive?
BRE and AAE Exemption
Candidates completing both BRE and AAE are exempt from PRC but receive no exemption for CPAAGE, keeping their overall assessment requirements unchanged.
CIPA-SS&GS Exemption
Candidates with old-scheme CIPA-SS&GS are exempt from CPSS but cannot receive the standalone certificate, maintaining the same requirement structure as other candidates.
Certificate Award
CPFAS, CPSS, and CPAAGE certificates are granted only when candidates pass the respective module exams, ensuring consistent certification requirements across all modules.
CIPA-FAR Exemption
Candidates with CIPA-FAR are exempt from CPFAS but cannot obtain the standalone certificate, and they may only earn the fellowship after completing all remaining modules.
